School field trips are held on Wednesday mornings and are conducted by the staff of the San Mateo County History Museum with the assistance of Folger Estate Stable docents.
Students have fun pressing apples, building "stone walls", stamping leather, and learning about tacking-up a horse. At the end of each tour, the kids are treated to a special appearance from Dakota - a resident Folger Stable horse.

Huddart Park Nature Hikes |
|
Nature Hike docents lead schoolchildren, their teachers and parent chaperones on walks in Huddart Park. All are enthralled by the wonders of the natural world that exist in such close proximity to our more urban environs. Every year the program welcomes more than 500 children to the park. For some, it is their first experience in the woods.
"Ater going to Huddart Park on a docent-led field trip with my daughter's kindergarten class, I just had to get my school in on this great field trip. The Nature Hike program has been so easy to work with, and accommodating for our kindergarten classes. The kids love being outdoors, and teachers love the fact that it's right in line with our science standards." -- Kristl Wong (teacher) --
